Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Have a question? We’ve got answers.

Below are some of the most common questions we receive about our defensive driving programs, class options, and services for new drivers of all backgrounds.

We offer a 14-hour New Driver Education Course, which includes:

  • 8 hours of classroom instruction (typically held over two Saturdays)

  • 6 hours of in-car training with a licensed instructor
This course is state-approved and meets Kansas requirements for teen drivers and those needing license reinstatement.

Classroom sessions are 8am to 12noon

Yes. Our behind-the-wheel training is always one-on-one—just the student and instructor—for maximum focus and comfort. It’s great for new drivers or those who want extra practice.

Absolutely! We work with teen drivers regularly. Our instruction helps them build confidence and understand the rules of the road while preparing for their driver’s license exam.

Yes, we are licensed by the state of Kansas and fully insured. Our courses meet all legal and safety standards required for defensive driving programs.

Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. Fees may apply for last-minute changes.

No, you do not need a learner’s permit to begin the course. In fact, completing our program can help you obtain your Kansas Learner’s Permit and Driver’s License, depending on your age and eligibility. Kansas law requires drivers under 17 to hold a permit for one year or until they turn 17, whichever comes first.

You can begin the course as soon as you’re eligible for a Learner’s Permit in Kansas, typically at age 14. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you on the first day to sign the necessary paperwork to enroll on Saturday morning and sign the necessary paperwork (this should only take 10-15 minutes) .

It’s easy! We offer ongoing enrollment, and you can start any Saturday. Just arrive at our location between 7:30 and 8:00 AM to complete the paperwork. Be sure to bring one form of official identification (such as a birth certificate, passport, visa, or government-issued photo ID). If you need language support, you’re welcome to bring your own interpreter.

Both courses are state-approved and classroom-based, but they serve different purposes:

  • The 4-hour course is ideal for general driver education, improving safety habits, or earning insurance discounts (check with your provider).
  • The 8-hour course provides more in-depth instruction and is commonly required for court-ordered driver education.
