-
Enroll In The New‑Driver Program
Call us, and we’ll confirm your student’s age, current permit status, and which license they’re working toward. We’ll get you into the next available new‑driver class. -
Complete Classroom & Behind‑The‑Wheel Training
Students attend in‑person classroom sessions and complete the required behind‑the‑wheel driving lessons with our instructors. -
Get Your Completion Paperwork For The DMV
When the student successfully completes the program, we provide the driver education paperwork Kansas accepts so they can go to the DMV for their learner’s permit and, once the driving portion is passed and age requirements are met, their license.
When Students Get Permit & License Paperwork
For most teen drivers:
-
Early in the program (often after the first or second lesson):
We give them the paperwork they need to get their learner’s permit at the DMV, as long as they meet Kansas age and ID requirements. -
After passing the driving portion:
We provide the completion paperwork for their license.
They hold onto this until they reach the age where they’re eligible to get their Kansas license, then take it to the DMV.
To date, students who complete the full program and follow instructor guidance have been able to get the paperwork they need for the next step in their permit or license process, in line with Kansas rules.

Extra Drive Time Until Everyone’s Confident

Beyond the required 6 hours of behind‑the‑wheel, we offer additional driving lessons at an extra cost so:
- Nervous or anxious drivers can get more reps
- Parents can feel confident before handing over the keys
- Students can keep working with the same instructor until everyone agrees they’re ready

New‑Driver FAQ
What age can my teen start?
Most students start driver education at 14 or older, in line with Kansas graduated licensing rules. Call us, tell us your teen’s age and current permit status, and we’ll confirm what’s possible.
Does my teen need a permit before starting?
In many cases, new drivers can begin our program without a permit. We’ll explain exactly what you need based on current Kansas rules when you call.
Will this waive the written test?
For eligible students, completing an approved driver education program and presenting the completion paperwork can allow the DMV to waive the written test when applying for a learner’s permit or license. We’ll explain how this works for your teen’s age and situation.
Will this help my teen get their learner’s permit?
Yes. For eligible students, completing our program and bringing the driver education paperwork we provide to the DMV helps them get their learner’s permit, as long as they meet Kansas age and ID requirements.
When do they get the permit paperwork?
Usually on the first or second lesson, once they’ve started the program and we’ve confirmed they meet the basic requirements. We’ll tell you what to bring to the DMV when you receive it.
When do they get the license paperwork?
After they successfully pass the driving portion with our instructors, we issue the completion paperwork they’ll use when they’re old enough and ready to apply for their license.
How long does the whole process take?
Most students complete the classroom over two Saturdays and finish their 6 hours of driving within a few weeks, depending on schedule availability.
What if my teen is very nervous about driving?
That’s common. Our instructors specialize in working with first‑time drivers. If your teen needs more practice beyond the standard 6 hours, you can purchase additional driving lessons so they can keep practicing until they’re confident.
